Putnam's Sons 1921 First Edition Hard Cover Very Good No Jacket Author of "Skipper John of the Nimbus" "Rayrmond, son of Daniel Y. and Hannah (Brooks) McFarland, was graduated from the Bucksport Seminary in 1892, from Amherst College in 1897, and received the degree of Master of Arts from Yale University in 1902. He is an educator by profession and has taught in secondary schools in New England and New York. He was principal of the Leicester (Mass.) Academy from 190d-'08, and of Ithaca (N. Y.) High School the following year. He was elected Assistant Professor of Secondary Education at Middlebury College in 1909 "Professor McFarland was collaborator to the Carnegie Institution of Washington from 1904 to 19O8. He is a reviewer of educational literature, a contributor to periodicals and author of a ' 'History of New England Fisheries." In the summer of 1910 he organized, with the cooperation of the Carnegie Institution of Washington, a scientific expedition into the interior of the Labrador peninsula. Raymond McFarland married, firstly, Addie A. Clark of Lamoine, April 15, 1899. She died March 11, 19OI; secondly, he married Mary Elizabeth, daughter of Fordyce W., and Adella (Goodnow) Bacon of Rutland, Vt., June 29, 1904. She was bom April 8, 1885. Their children are: Hannah Elizabeth, b. Dec. 35, 1907, in Leicester, Mass., and Raymond Bacon, b. May 7, 1910, in Middlebury, Vt." Internet Archive Very good green cloth.
